| I Lie for Their Own Good |
I have to lie to all of them
To the wife, the investors, the partner
Because they all have a vested interest
In my success
And anything negative
Threatens their domains
Their Futures
She wants comfort, security, stability, regularity,
Business failure means chaos
And negativism just breeds depression
The whole Truth won't help anything
They hope for the best
Don't want to lose their investment.
Want to make big profits so they can brag around the clubhouse.
To tack a "successful" portfolio company to their reputation.
They see what they want to see.
He wants to see return for effort and ideas contributed
Questionable though they may be.
He wants to get rich quick
A sycophant.
He can't be trusted with the Truth.
Honesty in all things is for fools and masochists.
But oh for a simpler lifeā¦
