| Falsely Accused |
I noted your silence at my inquisition
sitting silently, vacantly,
not saying a word
offering nothing
no support
no evidence
Contributing fear to my all-present pain
as I stared at you with beckoning eyes
and received nothing but a calculated glare
but when the moment of ultimate truth arrived
and the crisis reached a screeching climax
and in abject desperation I turned to you
my last supposed ally
it was your silence that hurt the most
and I knew I would never trust again.
